Field Trip – Miller-Eigel Private Preserve
Leader: Kevin Eigel and Marcia Miller
Kevin and Marcia have been loving and learning about trees for decades. Kevin is the owner of Ecohouse Solar and Marcia founded Yoga on High and has taught yoga for over 45 years. They have been devoted friends and supporters of the Arc of Appalachia since the organization’s early years.
Directions: 7657 Feder Rd Galloway, OH 43119. The numbers are on the mailbox opposite a paved driveway that goes back from the road. You cannot see the house from the road; come all the way back and park next to the two barns. GPS may take you to a dirt drive. This is not correct and we will be two drives to the west.
Habitat Focus: Marcia and Kevin live on 160 acres just west of Columbus in the Darby Creek Watershed that was historically a wet prairie before it was farmed for many years.
Time & Meeting Place: Meet at the barns at 9:45am and the hike will begin promptly at 10:00am.
Bring: Be sure to pack a bottle of water and bring a day pack for your lunch, which will be enjoyed along the trail.
Difficulty: The hike will be easy and will be approximately 1-2 miles.
