Saving the Ohio River Bluffs
the arc of
appalachia preserve system
photos by John Howard, Rick Gardner
& Larry Henry
We have just a small window of time to keep this treasure intact

The picture below is of
the Ohio River Bluff's hillside
where non-native garlic mustard moving in on the flowers. The garlic mustard
spread to approximately 1/3 of the preserve before we could mount a restoration
effort. There is much work to be done to save the historic and nationally
significant wildflower display at the Bluffs. We need hundreds of hands. We
can't miss even one year.
